I started ZKC in 2019 with a needle, a calling, and a belief that what we wear can carry meaning. After 24 years in the corporate world, I traded the expected path for the one God kept placing on my heart. Today I design wearable art that celebrates faith, culture, and community, one handmade piece at a time.

For more than two decades, I built a career inside boardrooms and balance sheets. I learned discipline, leadership, and how to build something that lasts. But there was a quieter pull I could not ignore, a sense that I was made to create, to honor my heritage with my hands, and to give people something they could wear with pride. When I finally answered that call, Zuriel Kingdom Collections was born.

Every piece I make is rooted in West African Ankara tradition, where color and pattern have always carried meaning. And it is grounded here in the Lowcountry, in Charleston, the heartland of Gullah Geechee culture and one of the most direct living connections to West Africa in this country. My husband, a Charleston native of Gullah Geechee descent, carries that lineage in his blood and in his city. ZKC sits at the meeting place of those two legacies, and that intersection is the heartbeat of everything I create.

Fashion is advocacy. Style is identity. What you wear can declare who you are, where you come from, and what you believe.

I design clutches, blazers, headwraps, jewelry, and wearable art, each one handmade and made with intention. I do not chase trends. I create pieces meant to be felt, remembered, and passed down.

This work has never been only about clothing. It is about community. The people who have walked this journey with me are not simply customers. You are the Tribe. You are the reason this kingdom keeps growing. Whether we are gathered in the studio for a sewing workshop or you are wearing a piece across the country, you are part of this story.

Now in our sixth year, I am building Zuriel Kingdom Collections with the same faith that started it and a renewed commitment to excellence. From my studio at the Public Works Art Center in Summerville, I am still designing, still creating, still answering the call.

Handmade. Cultural. Boldly You.

Let's continue to design this new space, one stitch at a time.
